had an HTC Vive for a year. It is, in fact, the dog's bollocks. Still get a bit of motion sickness every now and then but nothing major. Fallout4, Skyrim, No Man's Sky...... not forgetting the porn.....

I read about pilots testing augmented reality headsets (now in use in f35 iirc) who were having terrible problems with nausea etc.
They threw loads of money at it and couldn’t fix the problem.
Then someone had the idea to leave a small shadow at the bottom of the screen where are nose appears in our vision.
Job done, no more nausea

Bought the Oculus rift last year. After a couple of weeks started to get bad headaches, feeling of nausea, especially with flying apps. Apparently this is natural as sensory balance and elevation sensors in the brain detect a mismatch between visual and actual movement and sensing that something is wrong, assume in wrong in the brain assume that it is being invaded by a toxin. The body then reacts by initiating mechanisms to rid itself of the toxin, one of which is vomiting (hence the feeling a nausea - lots about on internet - some concern about long term neurological damage).
ps when taking it back (coz its a lot of money to lose to have something lying around, not ony because of health issues but novelty also wears thin after after a few weeks as well - well it did for me anyway), don't say its coz its a health hazard. I was lucky, one Argos said they couldn't take it back on that basis so I took it to another one and told them it didn't work)
